WINERY INFORMATION Crossroads is a reputed wine estate of the Hawke rsquo s Bay region in New Zealand The foundation of the company was laid down in 1987 by acquiring a piece of land to establish the winery and vineyard The winemaking team released its first vintage in 1990 The estate rsquo s celar door and winery in Fernhill is surrounded by the Home Block vineyard which was rebuilt in 2001 TASTING NOTES The fruit for this delightful Crossroads Winemakers Syrah was harvested from the estate rsquo s Elms vineyard The grapes were destemmed and fermented in stainless steel Post maceration on skins the juice obtained was stored in French oak barrels for 14 months before filtering into bottles The resulting wine presents a vibrant crimson hue A swirl of the glass offers captivating perfumes of pepper violets and smoke The rich and smooth palate contains juicy flavours of plums and dark berries This wonderful red wine ends in a fine and lingering finish marked by spicy characters This enticing Syrah goes well with beef duck and venison nbsp
