Here’s a glimpse of Spain much closer to home in McLaren Vale. It’s tempranillo blended with two other varieties of Spanish origin (we’ll keep the specifics to ourselves to protect the winery’s identity). The wine is on the medium-bdied side, especially for the Vale, and has floral aromatics, a spicy palate led by cherries and the tiniest hint of oak on the finish. And like any good Spanish wine worth its salt, there’s a savoury element that just screams for some charry, earthy and hearty food.
