It’s true that this wine in an absolute favourite of mine. It is actually my number one South Aussie tempranillo and what I think is a great example of Aussie temp. The grape originally hails from the Rioja region of Spain where it grows in high altitude vineyards with a long growing season. he Adelaide Hills are able to (somewhat) replicate this terroir, and produce wines of dense red and blue fruit, along with the variety’s signature freshness. The palate on this wine is tightly woven with cherry, red currant and blackberries, with a touch of cinnamon too. It’s a medium plus body, with so much class. Decant to get the best out of the nose and serve with chorizo and chickpeas (or chickpeas with spinach if that’s your jam).
