WINERY INFORMATION Poonawatta is a family-owned wine estate located in the picturesque Eden Valley region in South Australia It consists of 3 vineyards spread across 9 acres The winemaking team at Poonawatta produces a premium range of handcrafted wines with the objective to showcase excellence i quality and consistency and retain the best parcels of fruits from every vintage The original vineyard was first planted in the year 1880 but had been left neglected until it was purchased by Sue and John Holt in 1966 who restored it to its former glory nbsp TASTING NOTES The delightful Valley of Eden Riesling displays a pale yellow colour with dark green hues bordering the edges Crafted in an off dry style this enticing Riesling exhibits fruity aromas of freshly picked apples lemon and lime from its scintillating nose The palate is rich and textured filled with intense fruit flavours and sweet residual notes that get balanced by the underlying mineral acidity altogether leading to a dry yet sweet and lingering finish It can either be consumed fresh and young or be cellared for a period of 8 to 10 years Pair this elegant white wine with seafood or white meat dishes to discover its full flavour potential nbsp
