WINERY INFORMATION Poonawatta is a family owned wine estate located in the picturesque landscape of Eden Valley in South Australia Recognised as one of the oldest producing vineyards of Australia for its Shiraz vine plantation their original vineyard was first planted by Ferdinand Vorwerk in the ear 1880 The estate is currently managed by Andrew and Michelle Holt after Andrew rsquo s parents Sue and John purchased it in the year 1966 nbsp nbsp TASTING NOTES The delightful Poonawatta The Eden Riesling shows a light golden colour with pale green tints throughout The attractive bouquet exudes fresh aromas of apple lime and wild herbs coupled with subtle citrus and floral notes These fragrances give way to a lively and intense palate containing flavours of sherbet lime balanced by a vibrant mineral acidity Offering a zesty mouthfeel the wine culminates in a long and lingering climax This wonderful Riesling tastes excellent with Thai as well as Vietnamese cuisine or with beef curry nbsp
