Sometimes words or phrases can be so very evocative. ‘War horse’ is certainly one of those. It evokes strength, power, determination and reliability, and it’s absolutely fitting for this wine. The Pirramimma War Horse shiraz is sourced from old vines with small yields and concentated flavours. The palate is incredibly intense with mulberry, licorice, blueberry, anise and cedar. Preceding that is a bouquet of blackberry, plum, mint, vanilla and olive. The oak (both French and American) has been generously applied, providing a structure for ageing.
