WINERY INFORMATION Established in 1996 by Paddy and his father Robin Borthwick Borthwick Estate is a family owned wine company located in Gladstone Wairarapa It spreads across 27 hectares of vines planted along the banks of the Ruamahunga River It is currently owned and managed by winemaker andviticulturist Paddy Borthwick nbsp TASTING NOTES The fruits used to craft Left Hand Pinot Noir were fermented left on skins and pressed to barrels to retain intense fruit flavours and tannins The base wine features a dark ruby-red colour and light purple hues along the edges The scintillating nose is perfumed with fragrances of maraschino cherries plums cranberries and cedar These scents shift to the palate to provide rich and juicy flavours of dark cherries cloves and wild herbs combined with underlying French oak notes The fine and smooth fruit tannins fuse with the bright fruit characters to end in a delicate and lingering climax Drink this wonderful Pinot Noir with lamb beef and pasta dishes to unlock hidden flavours and elements nbsp
