When one of Australia’s best wineries lets us have at a cab merlot sourced from Margaret River, we get a little excited. This crew are masters of cabernet and all its blends, so our joy is quite warranted. There’s a fair bit going on here, with notes of blackberry, raspberry, mocha, mint, rosemay. And while that description was a bit of a mouthful, this wine isn’t too much of one, sitting on the brighter side of rich rather than the heavier one. Might just mean you’ll end up cracking another bottle before the night’s through.
