A Trophy and Gold Medal award winner at the 2016 Heathcote Wine show, De Bortoli's Shiraz Grenache is a distinctive red blend, expertly crafted from handpicked vineyards and Varieties. (2015 vintage)A bouquet of violets, spice, red fruits. The palate is full of moorish tannins, gentle acidity, olivespice, wild herbs, gentle finish, plump and seriously delicious. A medium bodied style with a dry finish.The majority of the Shiraz is grown by Ian and Lynn Rathjen and Willoughby Bridge Vineyards planted on an easterly facing sections of the Mt Camel range. Proper farmers, salt of the earth, an understanding of their land and vines. The Willoughby Vineyard also produces some of the most compelling and perfumed Grenache I have seen giving the blend the charm and perfume so important in high quality Heathcote red wine.
