The Barossa is just about Shiraz, right? Maybe a little Grenache and Mataro for good measure? Well, here's a wine that is the perfect reminder that Barossa Valley makes some of the country's best Cabernet too. From the Clarke family, this Thorn Clarke Terra Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon strikes that erfect balance between lots of rich Barossan flavour and yet not trying to be heavy and jammy. As the late Raymond Chan said in a review last year, this is 'full-bodied, the palate is elegant in proportion, but has depth, intensity and penetration of blackcurrant fruit'. You could honestly pay $25 a bottle for Barossan reds that taste like this and be happy. Of course, you won't pay anywhere near that amount here at The Wine Collective.
