Hailing from the northern end of the Barossa Ranges, this wine shows immense power. Thorn-Clarke have risen to become on of the largest family-owned estates in the region, allowing them to choose from a variety of expressions from the cool of the Eden valley, to the intense Barossa styles. This one s not for the faint of heart, with density and weight behind it to ensure it’s long lived success through years in the cellar. Although it could easily be a case of overblown intensity from the vines in the extremities of the northern site, the evening harvest has retained impressive fruit purity which bursts with raspberries and cherries, with a generous dash of black pepper. Seeing 18 months in old French oak, it’s full to the brim of class and generosity. Let us tell you, this is a true Barossa character.
