WINERY INFORMATION Founder Alfredo Nugan immigrated to Australia from Spain with his family in 1940 and established a small vegetable and fruit packing operation in Griffith NSW Overcoming a lot of hardships in the following decades the Nugan Group ventured into European style winemaking and i now known for crafting an impressive range of estate grown wines It is currently headed by the third generation of the family TASTING NOTES Fruit for this exquisite Reserve Merlot was sourced from the Riverina and King Valley regions Having matured for 20 months in American as well as French oak this wine shows a deep red hue Rich fruit aromas of dark berry and cherry combine with nuances of dark chocolate earth and tobacco flowing off the luscious nose The complex palate presents concentrated flavours of black cherries and plums integrating with fine tannins to lead to a smooth and lengthy climax This appealing red wine is a great match to shepherd rsquo s pie Mediterranean lamb burgers and roasted pork loin nbsp
