From an exceptionally low-cropping vineyard in the heart of Beechworth, this Shiraz has had the Rolls Royce treatment from the start - with handpicked fruit, basket-pressing, wild yeast fermentation and minimal filtration. The result is one of the most complex Australian Shiraz I've seen in some ime. 2015 was an 11/10 vintage in Beechworth too, and this red is absolutely singing, with a rare combination of silky smooth, effortlessly ripe blackberry and blackcurrant flavours and a beautiful twist of anise. Savoury and spicy, yet with an unquestionable richness, this superb medium bodied Shiraz is guaranteed to live for decades (if you can keep your hands off it) with one Australian reviewer (who gave it 94 points) describing how it is 'set up the long haul'.
