WINERY INFORMATION After completing his winemaking degree from Charles Sturt University in NSW skilled winemaker Richard started his career at some of the reputed wineries in Australia like Yalumba and Charles Melton He also worked as Chief Winemaker for Plantagenet before moving to Auckland tojoin Matakana Estate in early 2007 He firmly believes that Matakana is one of the beautiful places in the world to live and for nurturing best quality grapes nbsp TASTING NOTES The premium fruit parcels used to produce this spectacular Pinot Noir Rose were picked and then allowed little contact with skins The juice obtained so was cold settled and cold fermented in tank This resulted in the creation of a pale pink coloured wine with a salmon haze The perfumed nose presents lifted scents of strawberries and cream coupled with light hints of rose petals earthy and savoury notes The textured palate is bursting with berry and strawberry fruit flavours supported by excellent acid balance These great characters eventually pave the way for a dry savoury and refreshing finale Suggested food pairing for this gorgeous Matakana Estate Pinot Noir Rose includes antipasto pan fried salmon and pork and prawn dumplings nbsp
