WINERY INFORMATION Matakana Estate produces award winning ranges of premium and full flavoured wines The winemaking team led by accomplished winemaker Richard focuses on creating classic varietals and blends that showcase the unique regional characteristics of grapes used with minimal interference The winery is located on Matakana Road in Auckland New Zealand nbsp TASTING NOTES The grapes used to create Matakana Estate Sauvignon Blanc were picked immediately crushed and then pressed The juice obtained was clarified and then racked for slow cold fermentation in stainless steel tanks This process led to the creation of a pale straw coloured wine displaying light green tints The aromatic bouquet exudes lively scents of gooseberry grapefruit and citrus making way for a clean and crisp palate Delicious flavours of citrus and passionfruit combine with sharp yet refreshing acidity ending the wine in an intense and lingering finish With a cellaring potential of one to three years this enticing Sauv Blanc serves best with salmon or shellfish nbsp
