This is the second wine of Chateau Latour but make no mistake this isn't a juvenile version or copycat defining itself in quality and soaring above its more lowly status. The blend for 2010 is 72.5% Cabernet Sauvignon 22.5% Merlot 2% Petit Verdot finding a guttural tannin profile imbued with sone-like minerality and trimmed with freshening acidity. It's a wine that's thankfully approachable in youth but will cellar for 30-odd years evolving into a mellow more plush example of Pauillac wines from the famed parent estate.
