WINERY INFORMATION nbsp Vineyard Estate grown on our south facing 26 year old Yarra Valley vineyard at Kangaroo Ground nbsp Dry grown in the renowned deep volcanic soils of the district As winemakers we chose to craft a wine that would appeal to the ABC fraternity anything but chardonnay rminiscent of many Sauvignon Blanc rsquo s nbsp nbsp Achieved by picking early in the season to retain crisp acidity and some pleasant herbaceous characters Attractive green hues in the glass lifted herbaceous aromatics and a crisp refreshing citrus middle palate that shifts to a mineral chardonnay finish A portion of the wine was used to prepare two new St Martin French Allier puncheons for the barrel fermented ldquo Hilda May rdquo super-premium chardonnay and then back blended with the bulk wine And the name hellip when winemaker Ken King first tasted the final nbsp blend prior to bottling he uttered the words nbsp ldquo this is a Pearler rdquo Hand pruned and picked no pesticides a traditional handmade wine that is vegan compliant no animal derived products used in the winemaking TASTING NOTES An easy drinking wine made with Chardonnay grapes from our estate in Kangaroo Ground - the wine presents with natural citrus fruit flavours balanced by a hint of oak a delicious fruity white for summer
