I think that labels are limiting, stereotypes are silly and boxes are a load of bollocks. You know, like when people say “you can’t wear navy ad black together”, “blondes have more fun”, or “that Marlborough’s only good for sauvignon blanc”. Well, those people are witless, and in the case of this wine, clearly wrong. Why? Because this brilliant, trophy-winning syrah is of an elegance, balance and complexity that totally blows that regional cliché apart. And as an open-minded, palate progressive that pleases me no end, mofos.
