WINERY INFORMATION Forrest Wines rsquo winemaking team led by Dr John William Forrest released the company rsquo s first vintage in 1990 These exquisite and elegant wines are crafted using premium fruit parcels sourced from the estate rsquo s vineyards in the Marlborough Central Otago Gimblet Gravels and North Otago regions Besides being the owner of the company John is also renowned as a founding member of the New Zealand Screwcap Initiative TASTING NOTES Sourced from the company rsquo s vineyard site in Southern Valley the grapes for this Forrest Gew uuml rztraminer were harvested left on skins and then gently pressed The juice obtained was cold settled followed by cool fermentation The resulting wine displays a pale straw colour with yellow tinges A swirl of the glass reveals mesmerising aromas of rosewater pear drop Turkish delight and florals The dry and textured palate packs exotic flavours of quince pear and spice to culminate in a rich and captivating finale This mouth-watering Gewurztraminer tastes excellent with salmon mousse Cheddar cheese and duck and foie gras ravioli
