Are we ever going to get over Margaret River chardonnay? I just don’t think that day will ever come. More and more and more please! 2020 was a year that challenged the winemakers in Margs for a change. Ultimately the quality was there in droves, but the quantities were lower than usual. So the leson for our mofo’s? Get your 2020 Margaret River chardy while it’s available. This one was handpicked and given 9 months in a mix of old and new French oak with lees stirring throughout. It’s certainly rich and creamy, but like all great chardonnay, balances that with vibrant acid, an array of fruit (peach, nectarine, lemon, lime), some spicy and minerally notes and a little indescribable funkiness. Our thirst is insatiable!
