WINERY INFORMATION The vintage was one of the most condensed seen in McLaren Vale with crushing completed by the end of March The vintage was light in crop but of excellent quality with Shiraz having excellent colour and flavour Harvest weather conditions during February and March saw cool nigts but warm days ideal for grape development In response to this vineyards typically developed two weeks earlier than normal with Shiraz beginning at the end of February By the start of March a large percentage of the district had already been harvested TASTING NOTES This limited release Shiraz sourced from low yielding 70-year-old dry grown vines is only produced in outstanding vintages It saw opulent conditions for these old vines with great depth flavour and structure Aged in New and First year American Oak puncheons this is an intense McLaren Vale Shiraz showing aromas of black fruits dark chocolate and nougat with underlying notes of subtle spice Cellar 10 to 15 years
