WINERY INFORMATION The vintage was one of the most condensed seen in McLaren Vale with crushing completed by the end of March The vintage was light in crop but of excellent quality with Shiraz having excellent colour and flavour Harvest weather conditions during February and March saw cool nigts but warm days ideal for grape development In response to this vineyards typically developed two weeks earlier than normal with Shiraz beginning at the end of February By the start of March a large percentage of the district had already been harvested TASTING NOTES Our flagship limited release Shiraz ndash Reserve is only nbsp produced in exceptional vintages hand picked and then nbsp hand plunged in open fermenters Then matured in new and seasoned French and American oak for a minimum of 16 months This results in an intense full-bodied wine with rich dark chocolate satsuma plum violets and spicy vanillin sweetness and a firm tannin finish Cellar 10 to 20 years from vintage
