The 2010 season was marked by a period of extreme heat in February The heat accelerated the ripening and we ended up harvesting the grapes earlier than expected The wine is a little atypical for the Harcourt Valley showing darker fruit flavours and a fuller body The 2010 ANSTED amp CO North Harcurt Vineyard Syrah shows great intensity of dark fruit with complex warm spice aromas and quality french oak The palate is full bodied with soft berry fruit and a long finish carried by fine tannins It is a wine that can be enjoyed now but will gain added complexity over the next 5-7 years
