Winery BackgroundThe Long Row range from Angove showcases approachable, fruit-driven wines that highlight the character of South Australias Riverland. Crafted by one of Australias most respected family-owned wineries, this collection reflects more than a century of winemaking expertise and a focus o quality and value. The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon captures the warmth and generosity of the Riverland region while retaining elegance and balance.Vineyards and Vintage ConditionsFruit for this wine was sourced from select vineyards along the fertile banks of the Murray River in South Australias Riverland. The 2022 growing season was marked by a cool spring and a mild, dry summer, which provided ideal conditions for even ripening and vibrant fruit flavours. The combination of warm days and cool nights allowed the Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to develop deep colour, ripe tannins, and lifted aromatics while maintaining natural acidity.WinemakingHarvested at optimum ripeness, the fruit was crushed and fermented on skins in temperature-controlled stainless-steel fermenters to extract rich colour and varietal character. Gentle pump-overs during fermentation ensured soft tannin development and a balanced structure. After fermentation, a portion of the wine was matured in seasoned French and American oak barrels, adding complexity and a hint of spice while preserving the vibrant fruit profile typical of Riverland Cabernet.Tasting NotesAppearance Deep ruby with purple edges.Aroma Bright aromas of blackcurrant, cassis and ripe plum with subtle hints of cedar, vanilla and soft spice.Palate Medium-bodied and smooth, offering juicy black fruit flavours, fine-grained tannins and a touch of dark chocolate.Finish Long and satisfying, with lingering notes of blackberry and gentle oak.Food PairingPairs beautifully with roast beef, lamb cutlets, grilled vegetables or a classic mushroom risotto. Its smooth tannins and balanced fruit make it a versatile red for everyday enjoyment.
