VINTAGE CONDITIONS Winter rains were 15 - 20 below average followed by a dry spring and summer marked by rain in mid December which helped to freshen the vines Spring and the start to summer enjoyed mild temperatures A mild start to summer deteriorated to extreme heat at the end of January cusing concern in early ripening white varieties Canopy management and supplementary water programs ensured grapes remained fresh and in satisfactory condition The heat certainly created an early start to vintage while the cooler temperatures and March rainfall that followed extended the length of vintage GRAPE VARIETY Sauvignon Blanc MATURATION This wine was matured in stainless steel to retain a fresh fruit focus PEAK DRINKING This wine is best enjoyed young and fresh within a year or two of vintage TASTING NOTES COLOUR The Gold Label Mount Gambier Sauvignon Blanc is pale in colour with subtle hints of lime at the edge of the glass NOSE Displaying fresh herbaceous and subtle gooseberry aromas this wine is fresh crisp and vibrant PALATE The punchy zesty palate shows elegant varietal fruit flavours and a long clean finish Layers of complexity are evident with herbal and kiwifruit notes as well as fine tropical fruit flavours finishing with a citrus twist Overall a complex lengthy yet refreshing Sauvignon Blanc
