White Label Chardonnay

$29.00

The grapes for the Petaluma White label are sourced from two vineyards at Lenswood and Balhannah in Adelaide Hills. The wine is fermented in a combination of one and two years old French oak Barrriques and stainless steel tanks. The wine has classic citrus character, good acid and mineral fruit, wit hints of peach combined with subtle oak. This is a very easy drinking chardonnay that goes down very well on its own and as an accompaniment to food. Being a part of the Hardy winemaking dynasty, winemaking is in Andrew Hardy’s blood. He began working with founder Brian Croser at Petaluma in 1982, and now his role is ‘custodian of the vineyards’. Over vintage he works closely with the viticulture team, travelling to every region and every vineyard tasting the grapes and determining when they’re ready to pick. Andrew believes the secret is in the vineyards; if they’re great vineyards, and the winemaking responsive, the wines will be outstanding. - Andrew Hardy, Winemaker Petaluma.
