2015 saw warm and dry conditions throughout most of growing season but without any significant periods of severe heat Yields were low and many red varieties ripened evenly with great flavour depth and some firm prominent tannins which have softened well during maturation As a result many of thewines from the year show great structure and framing when young and look to have the ability to genuinely age well too Colour Dark cherry red ruby Bouquet Vibrant red fruited aromas fresh cherries red currant a and raspberries combine with some blue fruit notes upfront before a hint of stony minerality and subtle notes of pepper spice lavender and garigue herb Palate Prominent pillowy dark berry pastille fruit and some delicate soft tannins ensure an overriding sumptuous velvety feel to the wine This envelopes a firm Mataro core driving down the middle and out the end of the palate to give some length an additional layer of interest and provide some containment to the lovely dark fruit Drink now to 2022
