“But this wine is actually from Mt Gambier. Mt Gambier is on a bed of limestone and the area is an active volcano. Well, it was an active volcano, itâ€â„âs not anymore thank god. It’s really, really cool so this area suits pinot beautifully. It’s definitely geared towards that typical pinot character, so lots of lovely red fruits but it smells like they’ve done some cool stuff, maybe some whole bunch fermentation because there’s a little bit more funk and interest going on.”
