WINERY INFORMATION Situated at the southern end of South Australia in the heart of Mt Benson Norfolk Rise Vineyard is a wine estate known for the rugged coastline on its boundaries the fresh and exotic seafood served here and the beautiful sandy white beaches that make the region a favourite amngst tourists The vineyard is planted on 180 hectares of lush and nutrient rich terra rossa soils which aid in the growth and production of ripe plush and marvellous quality fruit TASTING NOTES After careful selection of grapes from the vineyard site the fruit was destemmed crushed and moved to Ganimede fermentation tanks Post extraction fermentation and maturation for 16 months a small portion of Cabernet Franc was added to the wine to enhance its complexity The wine resulting from this fusion presents a deep purple red hue with light magenta hints visible along the edges The lifted bouquet exhibits aromas of blackberry and cassis with notes of bramble mint cigar box and dark chocolate evident in the backdrop The dense and intense palate is abundantly filled with flavours of ripe forest fruits balanced by the creamy oak structure leading to a refreshing and lengthy climax This wine has the potential to be cellared for 10 years matching well with foods like wild mushroom risottos aged cheddar and slow cooked beef ribs
