Winery Overview Nannup Ridge Wines is located high on the granite ridges of the Blackwood Valley in Western Australia. Established by the Fitzgerald brothers, the estate features granite loam soils, an elevated northeasterly aspect and cooling evening breezes which help produce wines with great dept and regional character. The label is recognised for its boutique quality and for crafting wines that reflect both precision and place. Region amp Vintage Conditions The 2018 vintage of this Premium Estate Cabernet Sauvignon benefited from an ideal growing season in the Blackwood Valley. Warm days encouraged full flavour development, while cool nights preserved natural acidity and structure. The granite loam soils contributed texture and concentration to the fruit, resulting in a Cabernet Sauvignon that balances richness with finesse. Winemaking Techniques This Cabernet Sauvignon has been crafted to highlight varietal strength and structural harmony. After harvest, the grapes were gently handled to retain aromatic purity and fine texture. Maturation took place in selected oak barrels, allowing flavours and tannins to integrate smoothly. The result is a refined wine that offers depth, balance and the potential for further ageing. Tasting Notes Appearance Deep ruby garnet colour with hints of maturity at the rim. Aroma Rich notes of blackcurrant, plum and dark cherry with layers of cedar, dried herbs and subtle spice. Palate Medium to full bodied with ripe black fruit and a core of cassis supported by fine tannins and balanced acidity. The oak is seamlessly integrated, adding gentle spice and structure without dominating the fruit. Finish Long, smooth and fruit driven with savoury complexity and a graceful, lingering finish. Key Characteristics A classic Western Australian Cabernet Sauvignon showing regional elegance and concentration. Ripe dark fruit profile balanced by fine tannins and well integrated oak. A boutique producer expression offering depth, refinement and excellent value. Food Pairing Recommendations This Cabernet Sauvignon pairs beautifully with grilled rib eye steak, roast lamb with rosemary, pepper crusted beef fillet or mushroom risotto. It also complements a board of aged cheeses such as cheddar or gouda and is equally enjoyable on its own as a relaxing evening wine.
