Winery Overview Located on the granite ridges of the Blackwood Valley in Western Australia, Nannup Ridge was established in 1998 on a 16-hectare site with exceptional soils and an elevated aspect. The estate is owned and run by the Fitzgerald brothers, and their winemaking is overseen by award-winnig contract winemaker Bruce Dukes. The vineyard produces Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, and prides itself on crafting wines that reflect its unique terroir. Region amp Vintage Conditions The 2019 vintage draws from vines grown on the estates elevated granite ridges where warmth by day and cooling breezes by night help produce Cabernet fruit with ripe flavour and retained structure. Soils and site work in harmony to deliver concentration as well as freshness. Winemaking Techniques In crafting this Cabernet Sauvignon, careful extraction preserves varietal integrity while oak maturation integrates structure and flavour without overwhelming the fruit. The result is a polished wine with depth and elegance thats approachable now yet built for short-term cellaring. Tasting Notes Appearance Deep ruby with a hint of garnet edging, signalling maturity and intensity. Aroma Leafy blackcurrant and dark cassis layered with light chocolate overtones and faint cedar. Palate Full-bodied and smooth-textured, it offers rich ripe dark fruitsblackcurrant, black plum, framed by refined tannins, subtle spice and a soft underlying oak presence. Finish Warm and sustained, fruit-driven with a gentle spice and lasting impression of dark-berry depth and polished structure.
