WINERY INFORMATION Introduced in February 2001 Mt Surmon wines are a range of premium and fruit forward wines that showcase the uniqueness of the vineyard and its terroir Mt Surmon Vineyard consists of 50 acres of vine plantations overseeing the scenic landscape of northern Clare Valley from a 40m hillside The vineyard was first planted in October 1995 nbsp TASTING NOTES Mt Surmon Shiraz features a deep red colour with youthful crimson highlights throughout the wine The attractive bouquet offers elevated aromas of ripe plums cherries and exotic spices with charry oak influences evident in the backdrop The balanced and focused palate packs flavours of fresh berries cherries and plums combined with dark chocolate notes The fine and smooth tannins fuse with the natural mineral acidity to offer an elegant mouthfeel ending the wine in a lengthy and persistent finale Drink this delightful Shiraz with slow baked beef short ribs with piquant chocolate sauce to enjoy a hearty and pleasing meal nbsp
