ChÃƒÆ’Ã†â€™Ãƒâ€šÃ‚Â¢teauneuf is famously grown in galets, the (very large) pebbles in all the promo photos of the region. ThatÃƒÆ’Ã‚Â¢ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚Â¢s not true of all of the wines, though, and this one sets itself apat flavour-wise thanks to the sandy soils of its vineyard. Still richly flavoured, itÃƒÆ’Ã‚Â¢ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¡Ã‚Â¬ÃƒÂ¢Ã¢â‚¬Å¾Ã‚Â¢s also curiously elegant, with enough depth for the discovery of hidden complexities. Tannins are ripe, but not aggressive, and frame everything beautifully.
