Alongside some of Clare Valley's most famed single vineyard sites is the MCR Block, so named by Mockingbird Hill due to its proximity to McRae Wood Road. Characterised by the shallow grey and red loam over slate rock and surrounded by beautiful old blue gums, this MCR block has produced the most intnse and characterful Shiraz of the vintage. The concentrated dark berry fruit spent time in tight grained high quality French oak providing firm yet velvety tannins in support of a complex fine wine that will reward careful cellaring.
