This mataro is deep, dark and spicy on the nose with the wildly aromatic floral notes that the variety is famous for. The palate is really approachable with plums, black cherries and and charred spice. There’s notable oak, but it works well with such generous fruit. It’s a great alternative to siraz for those who like to explore, and the tasters at Halliday absolutely loved it!
