WINERY INFORMATION Laurel Bank produces reliable quality wines manufactured using premium low yielding fruit that offers intense flavours and distinct varietal characteristics developed by the conducive terroir in Granton Tasmania The winery was established in 1986 by Kerry Carland The vineyard are positioned on north facing slopes that face the Derwent River The area enjoys lengthy and sunny autumn days in dry but cool summers that encourage and nurture the growth of the different grape varieties planted at the vineyard TASTING NOTES A fusion of black fruit and savoury herbal aromas greet the nose when this deep violet hued Cabernet Merlot is swirled in a glass At the first sip you rsquo ll notice blackcurrant flavours with fine and smooth tannins This is a softer style red wine but it does feature a rich and rounded palate that pairs perfectly with deer beef lamb poultry and spicy dishes This wine can be enjoyed young but it will definitely mature and develop some more with careful cellaring
