Luscious, complex and balanced with enough acidity to keep them refreshing, the 'nobly rotted' are hugely pleasurable wines to drink. And if you're going to dip your toe back in the Botrytis pond, the Platinum Award winner and "star of the tasting" at the recent Decnter World Wine Awards is probably a good way to go. From an Estate with several hundred years wine making under its belt, and sourced from vines that must be some of the oldest in Bordeaux (planted in the 1920's), the 2013 La Chapelle de Lafaurie Lafaurie-Peyraguey Sauternes is a truly stunning wine. Adhering to the traditional blend of Botrytis Semillon (93%) Sauvignon Blanc (6%), and Muscadelle (1%) it is a silken, luscious wine, overflowing with honey, apricot and burnt toast and balanced beautifully by refreshing acidity. Dessert/Fortified - Dessert Wine - Botrytis Semillon/Sauvignon Blanc
