Château La Tour Blanche Sauternes

$46.90

Interestingly this significant (and historical) estate is owned and run by the French Ministry of Agriculture after its original owner bequeathed the property to be used for winemaking education. It's suggested that the appointment of administrator Jean-Pierre Jausser in 1983 was the tipping pointfor Chateau La Tour Blanche to become a Sauternes producer of significance once more. The vineyards reflect a typical blend of 70% Semillon 20% Sauvignon Blanc and 10% Muscadelle with fruit fermented in stainless steel and oak barrels before being aged in 100% new oak for up to two years. These are incredibly powerful opulent wines.
