Founded in the Meiji Era in 1879, Hori-Shichimeien is locatedin the famed Uji region, and have developed some super-premium Uji teas to form the base of the Ki No Tea Gin. Tencha and Gyokuro green teas form the heart of the gin, with leaves picked from the Okunoyama Tea yard - one of the oldest in Japan. The result is a delicately balanced Gin that brings juniper and yuzu freshness, tempered by the sweet, roastiness of green tea. Since launching their Gins in 2015, Kyoto Distillery have picked up a plethora of international awards for their gins. The Ki No Tea Gin recently picked up the top gong for Best Contemporary Gin Japan in the World Gin Awards 2018.
