This wine is sourced from Blewitt Springs and split nearly 50/50 between shiraz and grenache. The oak is old and hosts the wine for 10 months. So you’ve got dense, earthy and spicy fruit from one of the Vale’s best little sub-regions given free reign to express itself unencumbered by oert oak influence. That means a wine of great concentration that’s actually light on its feet. Violets, orange peel, chocolate and redcurrants abound. The tannins are fine and chewy behind the scenes, rounding out a wine that’s more lifted aromas than lifting weights. What a nice change of pace!
