Green Label Semillon

$24.00

It is a vivid contrast to what you usually expect from Scarborough, and certainly has ageing potential. As a young wine it shows finesse and crispness, which in time will develop into a wine of toasty mouth filling richness and complexity. This is a superb example of the famous Hunter Semillon.'Toda's selections are all comparatively low in alcohol - light bodied but tasty wines delivering great drinking pleasure. Semillon seems a natural starting point as, along with prosecco and riesling, the variety develops ripe flavours before grape sugar levels (and hence alcohol levels) climb too high. The warm Hunter region excels at the style but sometimes requires cellaring to soften the austere acids. But Scarborough's version offers a soft, easy -drinking expression of the variety, with bright, lemongrass – like flavour and snappy, bone -dry finish.'- Sunday Canberra Times, 03 Mar 2013, by Chris Shanahan.
