Entrada Rose of Grenache

$26.00

The ‘Entrada’ range of wines are inspired by winemaker Alan Varney’s time in the small Portuguese town of Entradas, in Alentejo. Early picked from 60+ year old bush vine planted on the sandy slopes of Blewitt Springs, McLaren Vale, provides red berry aromatics, a touch of dried hrb, and a textural mid-palate leading to a vibrant, long, and dry finish. Alan credits the success of Varney Wines to his relationships with local growers, and his subsequent ability to source some of the best fruit in the region. All the grapes – grenache, mourvedre, shiraz, touriga, nebbiolo, cabernet sauvignon, fiano, semillon and chardonnay – come from vineyards in McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills, plus one small parcel from Langhorne Creek. “The culmination of our launch last year, and now this award, makes the hard work and sacrifice worthwhile,” says Alan. • Best New Winery | James Halliday 2021 Wine Companion. • 95 Points | James Halliday 2021 Wine Companion.
