Chandon is interested in creating medium bodied, aromatically complex styles of Shiraz. The Yarra Valley has a range of sites showing great diversity in terms of soil, sunlight, aspect and exposure, providing the winemaking team more interesting wines with which to blend. For Domaine Chandon Shirz 2013, grapes were drawn from vineyards with north facing slopes in the warmer lower elevations of the Yarra Valley where Shiraz shows soft, silky tannins and juicy berry fruit flavours, alongside interesting spice and floral elements.
