WINERY INFORMATION Castle Rock Estate rsquo s winemaker Robert Diletti has been part of the estate since its establishment in 1981 Two years later his family planted their first vineyard The grapes harvested from these lush vineyards were transferred to Alkoomi Wines for creating flavoursome wies Rob started his winemaking career in 1999 at the Alkoomi winery joining as Assistant Winemaker After the production of the estate rsquo s 2000 vintage he moved to his family company to build the 200 tonne winery nbsp TASTING NOTES Castle Rock Estate nbsp Shiraz showcases a deep red hue A whiff of the wine offers mesmerising scents of plum spice and black pepper with French oak undertones of cedar and char following close behind Plum and black pepper flavours combine with spice and cedary notes to present a plush and generous palate Ripe tannins and balanced acidity drive the mouth filling palate to a lengthy and lingering finish With the potential to be cellared for 8 to 10 years from vintage this delicious Shiraz goes well with red meat dishes and a variety of ripe cheeses nbsp
