Peru is not normally seen as a rum producing nation but sugar cane is grown in the higher central regions and fine spirit produced. Distilled on a column still from molasses and matured in used bourbon casks for eight years in the high cool mountain air over 2000m above sea level. It shows considerale colour and soft deep nose with sweet round fruit and a hint of spice. The wood is soft and the palate has a medium weight of peaty flavour together with a soft lingering finish.
