WINERY INFORMATION Vineyard In 1994 the De Bortoli family planted the Bella Riva vineyard on the King River at the base of the Victorian snowfields The vineyard is planted on sandstone and shale deposits washed down by the river blocks require timely crop thinning to ensure good flavour and colur development Winemaking Probably nothing better than a chilly bottle of pale dry savoury Ros eacute when the sun shines Although pale the wine has a red wine feel about it so that it even drinks well in winter 70 of the blend grown and pressed for texture and flavour 30 is run off Sangiovese red ferments for aromatics and perfume The juice is fermented naturally in both cask and vats The wine undergoes secondary fermentation on lees until final assembling of the blend TASTING NOTES Appearance is Classic pale salmon Ros eacute colour Red fruits smells savoury and exciting nougat aromatic Gentle flavours morello cherry soft acidity and creamy Perfect with gin cured salmon
