WINERY INFORMATION Vineyard Jon Heslop owner and winemaker at Witches Falls started out as a wine sales representative for Orlando-Wyndham From Brisbane he moved to Barossa Valley to work as a cellar hand then to Hunter Valley to learn winemaking and finally back to Queensland near Tamborine ountain This is where Jon and his wife Kim established their own winery Witches Falls in August 2004 TASTING NOTES Saignee is a term which means to bleed in French aptly describing the process employed to produce this delightful wine The fruit sourced from Granite Belt was given a brief period of contact with some of the best bunches of Sangiovese Syrah and Black Muscat grapes The resulting wine displays a vibrant red hue with fragrances of fresh berries and spicy hints coming off the scintillating bouquet The palate features summer berry flavours with a nice balance of fruit sweetness and zingy acidity This red wine is best consumed young and fresh matching well with barbequed foods and spicy Indian curries
