Hell yeah! Lovers of top notch Margaret River chardonnay rejoice! Call it luck, call it skill, but we’ve gotten our hands on something exceptional. Ray Jordan, WA’s preeminent wine critic, scored this chardy a lofty 97 points. It’s from a single vinyard in Wilyabrup (arguably the best spot for chardonnay in Margs), made entirely of Gin Gin (inarguably the best clone for chardonnay in Margs) and fermented in barrel before spending nine months on lees. There was then a selection of only the best barrels to go into this wine. The wine is elegant and refined with richer notes of vanilla, butterscotch and walnut, all counterbalanced by fruit notes of lemon, orange blossom and grapefruit pith. This is complex, layered and lengthy on the finish. You won’t find much better than this and it won’t stay in stock for long.
