WINERY INFORMATION Germanic immigrant Johann Gottlob Schrapel and his family moved from Silesia to South Australia in 1844 The family settled in Bethany Barossa Valley They planted their first vineyard in the year 1852 by planting cuttings sourced from Europe The company was established by brohers Geoff and Robert in 1981 It is presently managed by fifth and sixth generation family members TASTING NOTES The grapes used to produce Bethany Estate Semillon were handpicked and immediately crushed The juice obtained was fermented in stainless steel and then aged in French oak The fragrant nose exhibits zesty aromas of pears apples and grapefruits with hints of lime evident in the backdrop The palate is rich and delicate brimming with luscious flavours of gooseberries and lemons The mouthfeel is elegant The finish is crisp and refreshing This delightful Semillon has been crafted to be enjoyed within a cellaring term of 1 to 3 years from vintage Pair it with Atlantic salmon fresh salad or white meats to appreciate its grand fruit flavours nbsp
