WINERY INFORMATION WayWood Wines is an award-winning winery of the McLaren Vale region founded by former Sommelier and restaurant manager Andrew Wood and his wife Lisa Robertson Andrew worked several vintages in Portugal Italy the UK and the Granite Belt before finally deciding to fulfil his wn winemaking ambitions Located on Kays Road in the northern hills of McLaren Vale the WayWood cellar door was established in 2014 to bring food wine and people together nbsp nbsp TASTING NOTES WayWood Shiraz is a dark cherry red hued wine exuding luscious aromas of autumnal fruits blackberries raspberries black olives and blackcurrants from its scintillating nose with hints of fresh tobacco leaves sweet vanilla spice and bramble lurking in the background The silky and rounded palate is rife with flavours of blueberries forest fruits milk chocolate and French vanilla yogurt These flavours supported by subtle spicy notes and smooth tannins offer a creamy texture and lengthy finish Suggested food pairings for this enticing Shiraz include Shiitake mushroom gyoza and barbeque grilled Kangaroo with roasted beetroot and feta salad nbsp
